Who haven’t heard of the famous sports brand “Sky”? It’s an incredible and prime attraction in ‘Tour de France’ (The biggest cycling competition/event ever that’s held annually in france, duh!) but sky extends its brand to the dedicated sports channel and also to the Liverpool team. Liverpool will unveil their new home kit on their 125th anniversary and here are some details about it. But just in case if you don’t know what is home kit is referred to in football is as explained by wiki – In association football, kit (also referred to as strip or soccer uniform) is the standard equipment and attire worn by players. The sport’s Laws of the Game specify the minimum kit which a player must use, and also prohibit the use of anything that is dangerous to either the player or another participant. Individual competitions may stipulate further restrictions, such as regulating the size of logos displayed on shirts and stating that, in the event of a match between teams with identical or similar colors, the away team must change to different colored attire.”
The kit pays homage to the Reds’ 125th anniversary, revealing the commemorative crest for the first time. The liver bird emblem flanked with ‘1892’ and ‘2017’ is embroidered onto the breast of the shirt, a unique feature for the 2017/18 season. To commemorate the tragic events of Hillsborough, the 96 emblems, encased by the eternal flames, sits at the nape of the neck.
Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson said: “There is a huge sense of pride that comes with wearing an LFC shirt and it is always an honor, but this kit is special. Our 125th anniversary is a great moment for us all to celebrate our heritage and this kit really reflects that especially as it features the anniversary crest – we’ll wear it with pride.”
